Vincenzo Andreacchio
Director/flamenco guitarist/researcher
Vincenzo is well known in both Flamenco and Italian music genres (Due Voci) for over 30 years. He has directed music/dance ensembles and major projects including arrangements of original music/choir for a Flamenco Mass, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra "Por Alegrias" -Family Series, ABC TV series Milestones Of Our Heritage, ballet and theatre.
He founded the Flamenco Centre of SA in 1989, wrote and produced two educational videos - Flamenco Forms and Rhythms and - The Arts, teaching for cultural Inclusivity. Vincenzo has presented papers and workshops on the changing "Art of Flamenco" at national and international music conferences including ISME/ASME. His guitar teachers include Paco Pena, Serranito and Isidoro Carmona. Working with culturally diverse/Indigenous musicians and meeting Paco de Lucia were greatly influential to his cultural learning and creative development. He has performed nationally and internationally, including a tour with SAMI Award winning group Aire Flamenco which he co-founded with Julian Ferraretto.
His passion to promote peace and human rights through world music has been a life long commitment as a performer, researcher , musician and representative on Australian Commission for UNESCO (Asia Pacific Region) and Australian Council for Human Rights Inc.
